Just a short boat ride from the heart of the Gold Coast, Couran Point Island Beach Resort offers wedding parties an escape to the privacy of their own island destination. Flanked by the South Stradbroke Island Conservation Park, the resort is midway between the Gold Coast Seaway and Jumpinpin, and the only intruders on the wedding party might be the wildlife.

Function co-ordinator Lisa Menzies assists with help with wedding planning, from how to get to the island to themeing, catering and accommodation. Guests might choose to board the Couran Point catamaran at Marina Mirage, Main Beach. From there it's time to shake off the hustle and bustle of the mainland and relax knowing you're only a short ride away from the sun-drenched sands, sub-tropical forests and tranquillity of the resort. Alternate transport arrangements might include transport by water taxi, sea plane or helicopter transfer.

Wedding parties can ensure exclusivity of the resort by booking all of the 32 hotel-style rooms available. The rooms are set among majestic Livistonia palms and paperbark Melaleucas on a tranquil 27ha estate.

There are two styles of accommodation, a standard room, which has two queen beds, and a kitchenette room which has a queen bed plus a foldout sofa bed. The resort has a large, poolside, licensed restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner offering fresh local cuisine, and the function co-ordinator can help plan the menus to suit different budgets, and suggest ideas for the ceremony, reception and photography locations.

Before or after the wedding there is plenty for guests to do to make their island escape complete, either in or around the pool, relaxing at the heated spa, playing tennis, basketball or cricket, and more. There is a shuttle bus to the ocean beach, or for calm water activities there are canoes and water sport activities.

Christmas Parties

DAY CRUISE CHRISTMAS PARTY 2010…

Couran Point is a truly unique location to enjoy the festivities of a staff Christmas party. The Resort is a wonderful day trip destination and offers an all-inclusive Christmas Package.

Cost: $59 per adult* $29 per child(4-14yrs)

Inclusions:

1 hour calm water cruise from Marina Mirage aboard MV Bigcat;
Hot and Cold Buffet Lunch in the Resort’s Sunsetters Restaurant;
Use of the Resort’s facilities.

MV Bigcat departs Marina Mirage @ 10am and returns at 4:00pm.

* Minimum 20 adults.

OVERNIGHT CHRISTMAS PARTY 2010…

Overnight accommodation is available to Christmas parties that wish to enjoy the festivities at Couran point after the sun sets. The Resort offers the following all-inclusive Overnight Package:

Cost: $90 per adult* $25 per child(4-14yrs)

Inclusions:

Return ferry transfers from Marina Mirage aboard MV Bigcat;
1 night’s accommodation (twin share);
Use of the Resort’s facilities.

* Minimum 20 adults (10 rooms).

Both Day Cruise and Overnight Packages valid 1st November – 18th December 2010. Subject to availability.
